Protecting Businesses...
We are in the process of developing further additions to the website to ensure that our members are properly informed, up to date on all aspects of our service and informed of the services we offer and how our existence benefits the Harties Community. Please call back soon to see our updated pages. Thanks.

Opening/Closing Support
Current Crime Tends indicate that retail and service businesses are typically targeted during opening or closing periods. Shortly before closing and immediately after opening there are less clients or patrons, there are less staff members, safes are opened and/or the last cash of the day is tallied up. This mkes businesses vulnerable during the time when premises are the least occupied and/or the most cash is still on the premises.
For this reason, Harties Community Crime Watch will focus its efforts betwee the hours of 08h30 to 10h00 and again between the hours of 17h30 to 22h30. This will see our patrollers and static guards deployed in and around the areas where the most vulnerable businesses are situated. This will reduce risk, increase visibility.

Incident Reaction/Support
Most people are nearly unaware of the need for a security service, reaction unit or support until a crime is or has already taken place. It is a known fact that a lack of vigilance is the cornerstone of criminal planning - criminals know that people are most relaxed when there is a low incidence or less crime reports. The moment a crime happens, average people are taken totally by surprise. They might have no way of knowing what being a victim of violent crime feels like, how to process the emotions associated with an experience of this kind or what to do immediately after.
By providing an incident response service, Harties Community Crime Watch will be available when victims need guidance, protection, support and assistance most - in the minutes or hours following a contact crime and thereafter.

Staff Verification Records
Some businesses have a high staff turnover. Others have loyal staff that remain in their employ for years. In both instances, internal crimes almost always surprise business owners. Cases abound where a temporary or even a permanent staff member commits a crime against the employer, where the act is described as 'totally surprising' or 'we never thought so-and-so would be capable of such a thing.'
For this reason, Harties Community Crime Watch will mobiise an external staff record database that businesses can use to record full employee details for later reference. By knowing who exactly we are dealing with, the CrimeWatch Team can interact directly with the staff member in the event of a confrontation or know where they are most likely to be found, after they have committed a crime.
